Required Qualifications:
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in, Supply Chain Management or related field
● Minimum 1-2 years’ experience within a Manufacturing Purchasing Role
● Experience in food and meat manufacturing is a strong asset
● Advanced understanding of contract negotiations, strong negotiation skills are required
● Purchasing Management Association of Canada/ Supply Chain Management Professional
designation is an asset
● Experience working within an ERP (CSB specific knowledge is a strong asset)
● Proficiency using a variety of Google applications is an asset
● Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated success working in a team environment
● Excellent verbal and written communication are required

Key Responsibilities:
Job Duties
● Monitor and control inventory levels of supplies, fresh meat, packaging and production
ingredients
● Negotiating prices of materials with new and current suppliers
● Contract with approved suppliers for raw materials and supplies
● Able to create and maintain positive relationships with vendors and suppliers
● Ability to accurately create, approve and manage purchase orders within time constraints
● Maintain purchasing records, reports and/or certification for material and services purchased
● Effective evaluation of RFQ’s, considering product performance, price and delivery
● Coordinates the purchasing of fresh meat with the production schedule
● Ability to review current processes and review changes for cost and efficiency
● Process, monitor and report on non-conforming product resulting from supplier deviation
● Identify opportunities for cost reductions through material substitutions and volume price
leveraging while maintaining superior quality and cognizant of space constraints
● Perform general administrative functions within the purchasing department
● Coordinates and schedules third party inspections at all retail locations (as required)
● Ensure compliance with OMAFRA requirements with respect to vendors
● All other duties as assigned by Management
