On June 9, we proudly opened the doors to our first Attended Donation Centre located at 2501 Guelph Line, Burlington!

Following the opening of the centre itself, June 22 marked the official Grand Opening event which was attended by: Mayor Marianne Meed Ward, MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos, the office of MP Pam Damoff, the office of MPP Natalie Pierre, Councillor Rory Nisan, Councillor Angelo Bentivegna, and Burlington Chamber of Commerce CEO Terry Caddo.

All donations received at this location will be sold in our Burlington and Oakville thrift stores.

Our T.E.A.M program is designed to assist people with disabilities to obtain and identify skills, while working towards inclusion within the community through employment, volunteering, or recreational programs.

To join the program participants must:

• Self-identify with a disability/mental health
• Be a resident of Ontario
• Not be in full-time school or work
• A Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or protected person who has been granted refugee status in Canada under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act

This program runs on continuous intakes.

Annual General Meeting & New Board Announcement

Our Annual General Meeting was held on Wednesday, June 14, and a new Board was elected. We welcomed two new Directors – T4Tax owner and operator, Gaetano Sferrazza, and Canada’s L3Harris Wescam engineering modifications and sparing program leader, Scott James. Glen Norton was elected Chair, and Cortney Oliver Vice Chair.

We also thanked outgoing Chair Andrea Donlan, recently recognized at MP Karina Gould’s Volunteer Appreciation Awards.
