The power of work, the power of learning, and the power of celebrating together
Goodwill Amity was proud to present our 17 th annual Power of Work Awards Lunch this November. Over 160 guests joined us in celebrating the power of work, and the importance of giving a “hand up”, as our founder said, to those in need of opportunities in our community.
Lunch, fundraising, and MC Lohifa Pogoson
Over a three-course lunch, Emcee Lohifa Pogoson Acker made sure everyone in the room was energized and having fun. Together, we raised $31,000 to support job seekers in our community! These funds will support the delivery of Goodwill Amity employment programs and services in Hamilton, Burlington and Oakville.

Our Award Winning Guest Speaker
Following lunch, guests heard from Kendal Netmaker, award winning Indigenous entrepreneur and one of Canada’s most in-demand speakers and facilitators. He provided a thought-provoking and inspiring learning experience highlighting how the power of work, helping hands and focused mindset impacted his journey towards success. We are grateful for the opportunity to listen and learn from Kendal and look forward to reading his book Driven to Succeed: From Poverty to Podium.
