New correctional officer recruits who select and agree to a three-year service term to work at one of the following northern workplaces will also receive the following lump sum support:
Kenora Jail – $15,000
Fort Frances Jail – $10,000
Monteith Correctional Complex – $7,000
Thunder Bay Correctional Centre – $4,000
Thunder Bay Jail – $4,000
The program also offers tuition support up to $1,000 during the Corrections Foundational
Training—Correctional Officer Program will also be provided.
Additional reimbursement for relocation expenses may be provided up to $5,000 per year for three years if determined eligible.
