• High School diploma preferred / GED accepted
• Minimum of one (1) year experience preferred in fine dining hospitality and / or full service senior living
• Must be Food Safety Certified within 90 days of taking the position
• Ability to handle multiple priorities
• Possess written and verbal skills for effective communication
• Competent in organizational, time management skills
• Demonstrates good judgment, problem solving and decision making skills
• As applicable, all Sunrise team members who drive a Sunrise vehicle must sign the Driver job description and understand the key essential duties for safety and regulatory compliance

Key Responsibilities:

The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) is responsible for providing dining and table services to residents in the community’s dining rooms and designated areas in accordance with Sunrise Senior Living standards. The Server (Dining Room Care Manager) is responsible for serving as a role model in providing dining service and assisting training care managers, maintaining proper dining room set up, assisting in special events, monitoring appropriate checklists in support of the dining area cleanliness and readiness standards and assisting in table top inventories maintenance. Responsible for handling all food and beverages in accordance with sanitary procedures and standards and complies with all federal, state and local regulatory procedures regarding food service.
Core
Essential Duties: General Dining Service Duties
• Provides support in the day to day operations of the dining room while maintaining a high quality, positive and safe physical and social environment for residents and fellow team members
• Provides dining service training to new care managers
• Has knowledge of Daily and Always Available Menu items and can provide general description to the residents
• Assists residents with menu selections and responds to pertinent questions about menu items
• Responsible for taking meal and beverage orders and serving requested items according to established guidelines
• Responds to the dining needs of the residents while maintaining Sunrise hospitality and service standards
• Attends pre-meal briefing to gain knowledge of the meal and meal support activities
• Follows all local, state and federal policies regarding food handling
• Maintains standards of cleanliness, hygiene and health standards
Essential Duties: General Dining Room Duties
• Performs dining room checklist inspections for dining room cleanliness and readiness and makes necessary adjustments as appropriate to maintain quality standards
• Maintains side work duties as assigned
• Maintains assigned tables and surrounding area in a complete state of cleanliness, appearance and readiness
• Performs and ensures dining room set-up and re-set of tables is in accordance with dining room procedures
• Supports the dining room decorum and etiquette standards
• Performs and completes opening and closing checklist criteria
• Assists in table top inventories maintenance
Essential Duties: Resident Services
• Reviews, reads, notates and initializes the Daily Log to document and learn about pertinent information
• Reviews Resident Diet Book, confidential Diet Board / Indicator, Data Card or Chart
• Maintains and protects the confidentiality of resident information at all times
Essential Duties: Food Safety and Sanitation
• Safe food handling is practiced at all times to prevent an outbreak of food borne illness
• Completes daily, weekly and monthly cleaning assignments
• Maintains all work areas in a healthful and safe condition
• Assists in dining room and surrounding areas for proper directional flow, organization and supplies placement
Essential Duties: Risk Management and General Safety
• Partners with community team to ensure community is in compliance with OSHA requirements and promotion of Risk Management programs and policies; adherence to safety rules and regulations
• Practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) and Lockout Tagout procedures

Essential Duties and Functions:
• Sunrise considers the health and safety of its residents, family members, and team members as its highest priorities. There may be national emergencies or other situation that pose a direct threat to the health and safety of these individuals which require enhanced infection control protocols. To address these situations, the following additional duties may be required from time to time , as directed by management, and as permitted by applicable federal, state or locals laws:
• Participate in mandatory vaccine programs, such as COVID-19, tuberculosis (TB) or flu vaccinations;
• Participate in testing requirements, such as COVID-19 testing, TB testing, or fit-testing (e.g. respirators);
• Use designated Personal Protective Equipment (“PPE”) (e.g. respirators, face coverings, gloves, gowns, and other PPE);
• Other essential duties and functions that may be assigned.

Some of the requirements to be able to Onboard any new team members are as follows:
– Vulnerable Sector Police Check – no prior convictions (must be within the last 6 months of the Onboarding Date)
– TB Step 2 or a Clear Chest X-ray (must be within the last 6 months of the Onboarding Date)
– Covid Vaccine – 3 doses
