Required Qualifications:

Qualifications
• Be a Registered Nurse Extended Class (Nurse Practitioner) in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) with extended class specialty certificate in Primary Health Care or Adult Care
• Possess knowledge of nursing theories, mental health and addiction treatment options as well as applicable healthcare legislation including the Mental Health Act, Regulated Health Care Professions Act, Health Care Consent Act, Personal Health Information Protection Act, and others
• Demonstrate excellent critical thinking skills, as well as oral and written communication, analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Be able to work collaboratively as a member of an inter-professional team to provide the best primary health care services for diverse offenders

Key Responsibilities:

Nurse Practitioners are responsible for providing primary health care, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention, for inmates with diverse needs and security requirements at one of Ontario’s correctional facilities.
