Required Qualifications:

Job Qualifications / Competencies (KSAO’s):
A suitable candidate will possess a CPO certification, have completed Transportation of Dangerous Goods WHMIS training, can effectively engage in light construction or carpentry practices, a valid G driver’s license with a clean drivers abstract, demonstrated proficiency in English both verbally and written, with at least 1-2 years of experience in swimming pool maintenance or installation.

Knowledge
• Technology – swimming pool maintenance equipment, monitors, and gauges
• Materials Science – swimming pool treatment chemicals, and saltwater concentrations
• Business – proper billing / invoicing practices
• Language – intermediate knowledge of the English language both verbally and written

Skills
• Construction / Carpentry – fixing cracks, leaks, and installing light plumbing fittings and liners
• Problem Solving – troubleshooting pool systems, and treating pH levels
• Basic Skills – listening to customers, using mathematics to properly bill them, and utilizing number sense to understand the various gauges and monitors involved with pool and pool water maintenance

Abilities
• Verbal – can effectively listen to, comprehend, and respond appropriately to what others are saying
• Math – can accurately add, subtract, multiply, or divide depending on the situation
• Number Sense – can accurately read and interpret numbers on gauges, monitors, or other tools or equipment

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

• Driving the company vehicle to the customer’s location
• Assisting customers in resolving issues for their aquatic facilities
• Participating in emergency repair situations
• Reading blueprints or work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures
• Measuring and marking guidelines to be used for installations
• Installing, repairing, and servicing interior and exterior pool infrastructure such as cracks, and faulty liners
• Testing swimming pool water pH, and chlorine levels
• Adding acid, chlorine, and other chemicals to correct pH level
• Cleaning swimming pool using authorized equipment
• Replacing globes in underwater light fittings
• Fitting and repairing pipes and plumbing for spas and pools
• Servicing and fixing faulty pool cleaning equipment
• Providing daily maintenance and inspections as required by Ontario Health regulations on pool and mechanical equipment.
• Completing paperwork and reporting service requirements to management
• Maintaining equipment and chemical stock levels at store and in the vehicle
• Performing quality control inspections and ensure customer satisfaction
• Maintaining a record and report all materials used for a repair

Additional Details:

• Personality – must be friendly, approachable, and have a cooperative demeanour to work with clients to resolve their issues, and create lasting relationships for future business
• Vehicle Operation – must be a safe driver with a demonstrated history of proper vehicular conduct. Must be comfortable driving a pickup or utility van.
• Technology – must be well-versed in pool technology such as heaters, pumps, and filters, and using pool cleaning and water treatment technology
