Required Qualifications:

A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a related manufacturing environment as a programmer.
Proficient Knowledge in Mastercam and ability to read engineering drawings. Understanding of CNC Programming and G-codes
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong planning and organization skills. Team player with excellent leadership skills.
Aerospace Experience is an asset.
Certificates Training in the relevant field will be an asset

Key Responsibilities:

The computer numerically controlled (CNC) programmer’s main function will be to operate factory machines that turn raw materials into functional objects. Responsible for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to study blueprints and computer-aided drafting (CAD) software of products to be produced to determine programming needs.
Ability to utilize fabrication 2D CAD and 3D model files to create programs for CNC machining/cutting centers using MasterCAM.
Determine machining strategies and operations, and programming for multi-axis (3, 4 & 5 axis machines) the sequence in which machining operations must be carried out, and the time required to finish the job to efficiently manufacture the product.
Create setup and supporting documentation to adequately instruct manufacturing personnel on the loading and execution of automated manufacturing methods.
Develop sequences, tooling arrangements and settings, speeds, and feeds in accordance with materials to be machined, type of machine and capacities.
Ability to prepare program package (tool lists, setup sheets, and measuring tool lists) and programming tool paths, Program conversions (to different machining center) and program change requests. Make sure tools are ordered and available before operations.
Aid CNC operators in setting up new programs. Continually maintain the CNC programming database Troubleshoot and diagnose common CNC problems, consulting with manufacturer, as necessary.
Maintain continuous process improvement with safe work practices to reduce cost, improve quality and increase throughput for new and existing processes.
Developing the work-holding strategies and designing fixtures for machining complex geometries.
Working closely with the members of engineering and quality teams to review the customer requirements to produce high-quality components for aerospace, spaceflight, and industrial industries.
Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams to identify areas of inefficiency.
May perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
